I moved to Brenchley in 2020 with my young twin girls Sophia and Elizabeth, our rescue collie Ember, joining us soon after. Whilst my heart will always be in the north-east where I am originally from, I have grown to love this wonderful part of Kent. I feel incredibly lucky to live here and feel very much part of the community. I have an allotment in Matfield and spend much of my spare time running, walking my dog or hiking.
Following the completion of my degrees in Environmental Science and Town Planning, I started working in transport and have been a transport planner for over 25 years both in the public and private sector. My early career focused on active travel, behaviour change and sustainability and over recent years I have been fortunate to work major projects including the London 2012 Olympics, HS2 and Crossrail. I am currently a Technical Director for WSP, leading on stakeholder engagement, consultation and communications supporting public sector clients across the UK with local transport issues. I am a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Highways and Transport.
I decided to put myself forward to be a parish councillor because I am passionate about ensuring all our local community, particularly those seldom heard, have an opportunity to shape and influence where they live. I very much looking forward to engaging with our local community to make Brenchley and Matfield be the best it can be.
