Butterflies at Cinderhill

We recently had a member of the Kent Butterfly Conservation Group share some information about butterflies at Cinderhill after one of his recent visits to the site. He has successfully identified the Large Tortoiseshell and Purple Emperor butterflies to be present at Cinderhill. The large Oaks, Sallows, and Aspen trees at the top of the site near the car park are ideal habitats for these insects. The large tortoiseshell in particular is currently very rare but is thought to be making a comeback so it is great to see that these are now present at Cinderhill.
