Brenchley & Matfield Bowls Club are recruiting !

Have you recently retired and need something new to do, or are you working age and looking for a different sport for the summer months?

Lawn Bowls might just be the thing for you.  It’s a gentle sport which provides some light exercise in a very sociable environment.

You might have seen their members walking back and forth on the well kept green behind Brenchley Memorial Hall / Grays Cafe.

This is your chance to find out some more about the sport and perhaps join the fun.

The Club is holding its annual “Open Day” on Saturday 25th April from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.  It’s very informal, just turn up with some flat soled shoes or trainers and they will introduce you to the sport.

During the season, the Club holds informal practice sessions on a Tuesday afternoon and plays matches on a Wednesday afternoon and Saturday and/or Sunday afternoons.

It’s quite a small Club and all of the matches are “friendlies”, they don’t compete in any County league matches – so no pressure !

Ian Farr, their chairman, will be talking about the Club at the forthcoming Annual Parish Assembly which takes place at 7.00 pm on Friday 17th April at the Brenchley Memorial Hall.
